A versatile strategy for extending the half-life of drugs
PASylated IL-1Ra is a long-acting IL-1Ra based on PASylation Technology® for the blockade of IL-1α and IL-1β.
PASylation® significantly extends the drug's half-life by increasing its hydrodynamic volume, thereby bypassing the otherwise rapid renal clearance of IL-1Ra.
Prolonged receptor binding
PASylated IL-1Ra mimics the biological activity of the endogenous, natural IL-Ra, just with a much prolonged systemic action.
Therapeutic benefits
Based on animal studies, our preclinical data package of PASylated IL-1Ra demonstrates better efficacy than the current IL-1a/IL-1β blocker standard Anakinra, which must be administered to patients daily.
PASylated IL-1Ra is designed for once-weekly injections, which will contribute to improving patient satisfaction and therapy adherence.
